King Arthur is an action game for the GameCube tied to the film of the same name, casting Arthur and his knights in a battle-heavy retelling of the legend. Play is third-person and combat-driven: you move through linear stages of Roman-era Britain, fighting groups of enemies with sword strikes, combo attacks and blocks, with special moves available as you build up power. At points you take control of other knights from the story, each handling slightly differently, and some sections put you on horseback or alongside allied troops in larger skirmishes. Stages are broken up by cutscenes and narration that carry the plot between locations. The presentation leans on muddy, overcast battlefields and armoured character models drawn from the film's design rather than a fantasy interpretation of the legend.
