Over the Hedge is an action platformer based on the animated film about a group of woodland animals raiding a manicured suburban neighbourhood. You play as characters from the film, including RJ the raccoon, Verne the turtle and Hammy the squirrel, switching between them as levels require and using their differing abilities for combat and traversal. Stages take you through gardens, houses and fenced backyards, where you gather food and supplies, solve light environmental puzzles and avoid or fight off pets, pest controllers and other obstacles. Melee attacks, gadgets and stealthy sneaking all feature, and collectibles scattered through each area can be traded for upgrades. A cooperative multiplayer mode lets a second player join in on the raiding.
