The Sims brings the life simulation series to GameCube in a version built for a controller rather than a mouse and keyboard. You create Sims, guide them through daily routines of eating, sleeping, bathing and socializing, and manage the moods and needs that determine how well their day goes. Building and furnishing a home is handled through simplified menus, with objects placed room by room as your household earns money from work. Alongside an open-ended free play mode, the console release adds a structured story mode in which you move into a shared house and work through goals tied to relationships, jobs and possessions. Sims speak in the series' invented gibberish language, and much of the play comes from watching how personalities and needs collide in an ordinary household.
