F1 Career Challenge is a licensed Formula One game for the PlayStation 2 whose main mode strings several championship seasons together into one long career. You start with a team and work through race weekends, with results and objectives affecting your standing and your prospects with other teams as the seasons roll over. Each season brings its licensed cars, drivers and circuits. Practice and qualifying set the grid, and settings for race length, opponent difficulty, damage, tyre wear, fuel use and weather adjust how simulation-like the racing feels. Driving aids including traction control, braking help and automatic gears can be turned on or off, and car setup covers gearing, wings and suspension. Single races and time trials are available outside the career for quick sessions.
