Maximo vs. Army of Zin continues the story of the undead knight Maximo, this time facing the Zin, a force of mechanical constructs overrunning the countryside. The game keeps the 3D action-platform structure of its predecessor but leans harder into combat, giving you sword combos, shield moves, unlockable special attacks and upgrades bought with collected currency. Levels take you through villages, forests, mines and fortresses, with platforming hazards, hidden rooms and civilians to rescue along the way. The armour system returns, stripping Maximo down to his boxer shorts when he takes damage, and the Grim Reaper again features in the framing of the story. Boss encounters punctuate the stages, and larger Zin machines require pattern recognition rather than straightforward swordplay.
