Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots is a PlayStation 2 action platformer that brings together characters from several Nickelodeon cartoons, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick, Timmy Turner, Danny Phantom and Jimmy Neutron. The story sends the group into a toy factory to deal with an army of robotic toys, and levels mix platforming, combat against waves of mechanical enemies, and switch- and machinery-based puzzles. Each playable character has a distinct ability, and you swap between them to reach areas or solve obstacles that only one of them can handle. Collectibles scattered through the stages can be gathered as you explore, and a second player can join in supported sections. Voice work and cartoon-styled cutscenes tie the crossover cast together between levels. Combat and platforming are pitched at younger players.
