Smuggler's Run 2 continues the off-road driving series on PlayStation 2, casting you as a smuggler moving illegal cargo across wide open terrain while law enforcement and rival gangs try to stop you. Missions involve picking up goods at marked points and reaching drop-offs before time runs out, with pursuit vehicles and helicopters closing in as you go. There are no set tracks: you pick your own line across hills, rivers, streets and rough ground, using the landscape to lose anyone on your tail. The vehicle roster spans buggies, cars and trucks with different handling, toughness and carrying capacity, and new machines become available as you progress. Alongside the campaign, the game includes checkpoint and turf-style challenges plus split-screen multiplayer for two players.
