The second Splinter Cell game, on PlayStation 2. You play as Sam Fisher in a third-person stealth campaign that follows an international terrorist plot across a range of locations. Progress depends on staying out of light, moving quietly, and watching guard patterns before acting. Fisher's equipment includes night vision and thermal goggles, a silenced pistol, a rifle and gadgets for distraction, and he can shoot out lights to create the darkness he needs. His movement covers wall hugging, ledge hanging, climbing, rappelling and the split jump. Guards can be grabbed and interrogated for codes and intel, knocked out and then dragged out of sight. Alarms and detection carry consequences, so missions reward observation and restraint more than direct combat. The game also includes a competitive multiplayer mode setting spies against mercenaries.
