The Sega CD, sold as the Mega-CD in some regions, is an add-on that sits with the Genesis and plays CD-based games. It arrived during the industry's full-motion video phase, so its library is stacked with live-action interactive movies alongside CD-audio versions of Genesis games and a handful of genuinely strong original releases. It is one of the more distinctive chapters in Sega's hardware history.
