This Super Nintendo release brings Taito's Space Invaders to the 16-bit console. The core game is the arcade original: rows of aliens descend the screen in formation while you move a laser cannon along the bottom, firing upward and taking cover behind destructible shields. Clearing a wave brings the next one in faster, and the aliens' shots and gradual descent close the space you have to work with. Play is score-driven, with the tension coming from the increasing tempo and the shrinking room to manoeuvre.
