The Super Nintendo version of Tecmo Super Bowl offers arcade-style American football with licensed teams and real professional players of its era. Offensive plays are chosen from a small selection screen while the defense picks at the same time, so guessing your opponent's call correctly can stop a drive before it starts. Passing uses receiver selection, and ball carriers can fight through tackles with button presses. Modes include exhibition games, two-player matches and a season that tracks standings, statistics and injuries on the way to the playoffs. Touchdowns, interceptions and field goals are punctuated by cut-in animation sequences. Player ratings vary noticeably from one athlete to the next, which shapes how each team plays on the field.
This listing is for an authentic original cartridge — no reproductions. Every product we sell is cleaned and tested before it ships, and our games are backed by a 1-year warranty. Choose Game Only or Complete (CIB) above.
