A side-scrolling action platformer with exploration and levelling, starring Nathan Graves as he searches a castle for his captured master. The map is one large interconnected space, and new abilities such as a double jump, dash and other movement skills open routes that were previously out of reach. Combat centres on a whip, supported by the Dual Set-Up System, in which cards dropped by enemies are combined in pairs to produce different elemental attacks, summons and effects, letting you reconfigure your abilities as your card collection grows. Enemies yield experience and items, and save rooms are placed through the castle. Progress involves mapping out passages, defeating bosses to advance and returning to earlier areas once new traversal options are available.
