Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer brings arcade-style trick skating structure to surfing on the GameCube. You pick a surfer, drop into a wave, and chain together aerials, spins, grabs and rail moves to build combo scores before the wave closes out. Runs are built around objective lists and score targets rather than open-ended free play, and completing goals unlocks further breaks and characters. Between waves you paddle back out, and wipeouts end a run. Real professional surfers appear alongside the licensed Kelly Slater name, and the game is set at surf locations around the world. Handling emphasises reading the wave face for speed and finding sections to launch from, with a licensed soundtrack playing over sessions.
