Undercover casts you as a driver working undercover inside a street-racing world, with the story told through live-action video sequences between events. You take on races, pursuits and jobs across an open road network, building a reputation while police attention escalates into extended chases. Event types include circuit and sprint races, highway battles against rival drivers, and escape objectives where you have to shake pursuing cruisers. Licensed cars can be bought, upgraded with performance parts and altered visually with paint and body modifications. The PlayStation 2 edition keeps the open-road structure and the police pursuit systems the series is known for, with handling tuned toward accessible arcade driving rather than simulation.
