Pokemon HeartGold Version is a Nintendo DS remake of Pokemon Gold, covering the Johto region and, later, Kanto. You raise a starter from Chikorita, Cyndaquil or Totodile, collect Gym Badges, and deal with Team Rocket across both regions. The remake rebuilds the world in the fourth generation engine, with touch screen menus, updated battle mechanics and Wi-Fi trading and battling. Your lead Pokemon walks behind you on the field and can be spoken to for reactions and found items. The game shipped with the Pokewalker, a pedometer accessory that a Pokemon can be transferred to so it gains experience as you walk, with small minigames for catching Pokemon and finding items. Ho-Oh features in this version's story.
