Reign of Fire is an action game tied to the film of the same name, set in a near-future world overrun by dragons after they emerge from beneath the earth. Play is split between two sides. As the human resistance you operate armoured vehicles and tanks, using cannons and mounted weapons to fight off dragon attacks and protect survivors. As a dragon you fly over the ruined landscape, breathing fire on buildings, vehicles and people below while dodging anti-air fire. Missions are set in destroyed cities and countryside, with objectives ranging from escorting and defending to razing targets outright. The two campaigns give the game two distinct feels, one ground-based and weapon-focused, the other centred on flight and aerial destruction.
