Road Avenger is an interactive movie for the Sega CD, built almost entirely from animated full-motion video. The story follows a driver seeking revenge after his wife is killed, and each stage plays out as a continuous chase sequence rendered as anime footage. Rather than steering freely, you respond to on-screen prompts, pressing the indicated direction or button at the right moment to swerve, brake, accelerate, or ram an enemy vehicle. Correct inputs keep the cinematic rolling; mistakes cut to a crash and restart the sequence. Because the action is fixed, progress comes from learning the timing and order of each stage's cues through repetition. The presentation leans on the CD format for full-screen animation, voice work, and a recorded soundtrack. Sessions are short, and the appeal lies in memorising and executing each chase cleanly.
