Rugby 2004 is a rugby union game from EA Sports for the PlayStation 2. Matches are played 15-a-side using the full ruleset, so you deal with scrums, lineouts, rucks, mauls and penalties as well as open-field running and kicking. On attack you string together passes along the backline, look for gaps with sidesteps and dummies, and choose between kicking for territory or going for goal; on defence you close down the line, time tackles and compete for the ball at the breakdown. Kicks at goal use a meter for power and direction. The game includes international teams and competitions, with exhibition, tournament and longer season modes, plus two-player games on a single console. Commentary and television-style replays frame the action.
