Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder is a trick-based snowboarding game for the PlayStation 2. You choose a rider and take on mountain courses, using jumps, rails, pipes and natural terrain to perform grabs, spins, flips and grinds, then link them into combos for points. Runs are structured around goals and score targets, so exploring each course to find the best lines and the biggest air is part of the process. Riders and boards can be selected before a run, and licensed professional snowboarders appear alongside Shaun Palmer himself. The game uses a licensed soundtrack and an over-the-shoulder camera, and includes both single-player progression and multiplayer options on one console. Controls follow the extreme-sports template of the era, combining direction inputs with trick buttons.
