A survival horror entry set before the events of the first Silent Hill. You play Travis Grady, a truck driver who stops to help a girl on the road outside town and then finds himself wandering Silent Hill. Exploration covers locations such as a hospital, a theatre and a sanitarium, with note reading, key hunting and item puzzles between encounters. Combat leans on a wide range of improvised melee weapons, including furniture and tools, most of which break after repeated use, so you collect and cycle through them constantly. Firearms and healing items are limited. Mirrors found in the environment let Travis shift between the ordinary town and its rusted, decayed counterpart. This is the PlayStation 2 version of the game.
