A reimagining of the first Silent Hill's premise for PlayStation Portable. You play Harry Mason, who wakes after a car crash and searches the snowbound town for his missing daughter, Cheryl. The story is framed by therapy sessions in which you answer questions and interact with objects, and your responses shape details of the world, characters and endings as you play. Exploration uses a flashlight and a phone that handles maps, messages, photographs and calls to numbers you find. Rather than fighting, you deal with monsters in nightmare sequences where the town freezes over and you must run, evade and shake off pursuers to reach an exit. There is no combat and no ammunition to manage, so pacing alternates between quiet investigation and chase segments.
