SSX Tricky is an arcade snowboarding game for PlayStation 2 built around wildly exaggerated mountain courses full of ramps, rails, tunnels and shortcuts. You choose from a roster of riders, each with their own stats and attitude, and compete in races and trick events on tracks that loop, split and drop through elaborate scenery. Filling your boost meter with clean riding lets you unleash Uber tricks, over-the-top signature moves that pay out large scores and open up further boost. Rivals shove and elbow for position during races, and knocking an opponent down is a legitimate tactic. Progressing through events unlocks additional riders, boards and outfits. A commentating announcer and a licensed soundtrack play over runs, and a split-screen mode lets two players ride the same courses together.
