The Warriors is a beat 'em up based on the 1979 film about a New York street gang trying to make it home after being framed for a murder. Much of the game is a prequel, covering how the gang formed and the turf conflicts that came before the events of the movie, before moving into the film's story. You brawl through subway stations, alleys and rooftops using punches, kicks, grapples and improvised weapons, and you can order fellow gang members to attack, scatter or stay close. Between fights there is spray-painting turf, mugging pedestrians, breaking into buildings and running from police. A two-player cooperative mode is included, along with unlockable extras.
