Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue continues the Australian-themed platforming series on GameCube. You play as Ty, a boomerang-throwing Tasmanian tiger, working out of a bush town hub that connects to the surrounding outback areas. Rather than a straight run of self-contained levels, progress comes from taking on missions handed out by the townsfolk, which range from combat and rescue tasks to timed challenges and collection jobs. Ty's boomerangs remain the core of the combat, with different types offering elemental and utility effects that you unlock as you go. Vehicle sections put you behind the wheel for driving and shooting segments across open stretches of terrain. Between missions you can explore, gather items and spend earnings on upgrades and new boomerang types.
