Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is a 3D platformer for the Nintendo GameCube set in an Australian bush world. You play as Ty, who explores open hub areas and levels populated by native wildlife, collecting items, freeing trapped companions and completing objectives for the characters you meet. Ty's main weapons are boomerangs, thrown at enemies and targets and used to solve environmental puzzles; new boomerang types with elemental and special properties are unlocked as you progress. Movement includes gliding, swimming, climbing and a bite attack for close range. Levels mix combat, collection and light exploration, with optional goals hidden throughout each area. The presentation leans on Australian settings, slang and animals.
