Worms Blast is a puzzle game built around the Worms cast rather than the usual turn-based artillery battles. Your character sits in a small boat at the bottom of the screen, aiming a weapon upward at a wall of coloured blocks. Matching your shot to a block's colour clears it, and clearing supports sends debris tumbling down, which can strike your boat if you are not paying attention. Power-ups and crates fall into the play area, granting alternate weapons and effects. The game includes single-player play against a series of stages and challenges, along with head-to-head competitive modes where two players fire across a shared or split playfield. Controls centre on steering the boat, angling your aim and timing shots as the wall shifts overhead.
