Extreme-G 2 is a futuristic motorcycle racing game for the Nintendo 64. You ride armed bikes at very high speeds around enclosed circuits filled with tunnels, loops and tight banked turns, with the sense of velocity heightened by a heavy motion blur effect. Weapons and pickups are scattered around the track, letting you fire on rivals or defend yourself while jockeying for position. Winning races and placing well earns access to faster machines and further circuits, and bikes can be upgraded as you advance. Alongside the single-player championship structure there are time trial and one-off race options, plus split-screen multiplayer for racing against others on the same console. Handling is arcade-style, favouring memorisation of track layouts and careful use of boost over simulation-style physics.
