Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole is an action game based on the animated film, and you play as owls rather than ground-bound characters. Most of the game is spent in flight: you steer through forests, canyons and stormy skies, weaving between obstacles, diving, gaining speed and turning to line up attacks on enemy owls. Combat involves grappling and striking rivals in mid-air, and there are sections built around chases and escorting or protecting allies. Between missions the story follows the film's plot, with cutscenes and narration carrying events forward. Progress unlocks new abilities and characters to fly as. On Wii the controls use the Remote and Nunchuk to handle steering and attacks. It is a family-oriented flying action game rather than a difficult simulator.
