The Adventures of Willy Beamish is a point-and-click adventure game on Sega CD. You play as Willy, a nine-year-old boy whose main goals are avoiding trouble at home and school while pursuing his own plans, including a video game tournament. The Sega CD version adds voice acting and CD audio to the cartoon-styled, hand-animated presentation. Play involves exploring locations, talking to family members and other characters, and using items to solve situational puzzles. A distinctive element is the trouble system: misbehaving builds up strikes, and accumulating too many can end the game, so decisions about what Willy gets away with matter. Willy also looks after his pet frog, Horny. The story runs on a schedule of days and events, and scenes play out in a family sitcom register.
