Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge brings the bear and bird duo to Game Boy Advance in a platformer presented from an isometric viewpoint with sprite-based characters. Kazooie rides in Banjo's backpack, and together you run, jump, peck, roll, and use egg attacks to deal with enemies, along with additional moves taught to you over the course of the adventure. You explore themed worlds connected by a hub, collecting musical notes, jiggies, and other items needed to open up new areas and progress, while helping characters with small tasks and solving light environmental puzzles. Gruntilda drives the plot, and transformations let you take other forms with their own abilities to reach places Banjo cannot. The structure follows the collection-based design of the console games, scaled down for handheld play.
