Darkwing Duck on Game Boy is a side-scrolling action platformer based on the animated series about the caped crime-fighter of St. Canard. You play Darkwing, using his gas gun to fire at enemies and his cape to shield against incoming projectiles while jumping across rooftops, sewers and other stages built around the show's villains. Movement includes ducking, climbing and grabbing onto overhead hooks to swing across gaps, and you can pick up alternate ammunition types that change the behaviour of your shots. Stages end in a confrontation with one of the cartoon's costumed antagonists, each with its own attack pattern to learn. Levels are compact and reworked for the handheld's smaller screen, with health items hidden in crates along the way. Single-player only.
