Ecks vs. Sever is a first-person shooter for the Game Boy Advance, tied to the film of the same name. You play through mission-based levels from a first-person viewpoint, moving through corridors and interiors, picking up an assortment of firearms and explosives, and eliminating enemy forces while working toward each stage's objective. The engine renders the environments in a texture-mapped pseudo-3D style built for the handheld's screen, with a heads-up display showing health, ammunition and a map. Alongside the single-player campaign, link cable support allows head-to-head multiplayer between systems. Controls map movement, strafing and firing across the GBA's buttons and shoulder triggers. It stands out as one of the handheld's attempts at bringing a console-style shooter to a portable format.
