Eternal Champions on Sega CD is a one-on-one fighting game built around a roster of warriors taken from different points in history, each pulled from the moment of their death and given a chance to fight for the right to return to life. You choose a champion and work through matches against the rest of the cast, using standard punch and kick attacks alongside character-specific special moves. Every fighter has their own home stage, and many arenas include hazards that can damage or finish an opponent. The Sega CD version expands on the earlier cartridge release with additional characters, CD audio, animated story sequences, and extra finishing moves. Modes include single-player progression through the roster and head-to-head play against a second player.
