Fatal Fury on Super Nintendo is a home conversion of the arcade fighting game. You choose from a small roster including Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard and Joe Higashi and fight through opponents toward Geese Howard in the South Town tournament. The game uses a two-plane system: some stages have a foreground and background lane, and fighters can hop between them to dodge attacks or launch their own from a different angle. Matches are best-of-three rounds with special moves performed by directional inputs and a button press, such as Terry's projectile and rising attacks. Alongside the single-player path there is a two-player versus mode, though the character selection available differs between modes. Backgrounds are drawn from South Town locations, with animated crowds and onlookers behind the action.
