A side-scrolling take on the Pikmin series. Captain Olimar crash-lands on an unfamiliar planet and needs Sparklium to fuel his ship home, so you guide him through short 2D stages collecting treasure and returning to the ship. You throw Pikmin with the stylus to attack creatures, break obstacles and carry objects back, and different Pikmin types handle fire, water, electricity and other hazards. Stages hide Pikmin to rescue and treasures tucked away in optional routes, encouraging replays. Between areas you can visit the Pikmin Park, where rescued Pikmin dig up additional Sparklium over time. Levels are grouped into areas that end with boss encounters against larger creatures, and Olimar's log adds commentary on the objects and wildlife you find.
