Marvel vs. Capcom on Dreamcast is a two-dimensional tag fighting game pitting Marvel characters against Capcom's. You pick two fighters and swap between them mid-match, calling the resting partner in for assist attacks or team-up super moves while a meter charges from the damage you deal and take. A separate roster of guest characters can also be summoned to perform a single attack. The sprite-based fighters use six-button controls and dial in air combos, launchers and multi-part supers, with the fast pace and heavy screen effects typical of the series. Modes include arcade play, versus matches and training, and the Dreamcast version is a home conversion of the arcade original. The roster mixes Marvel superheroes with fighters and characters from across Capcom's games.
