Mega Man Battle Network 5 Team Protoman continues the Game Boy Advance series in which Lan Hikari explores the physical world and sends his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, into cyberspace. Battles take place in real time on a divided grid, with Battle Chips selected from a customisable folder between turns to attack, block and support. Alongside regular encounters, the game features Liberation Missions: turn-based tactical scenarios where you lead a squad of allied Navis across a grid of corrupted panels, spending turns to trigger battles and free territory before the turn limit expires. Each teammate brings a distinct liberation skill and combat style. Team Protoman and Team Colonel follow the same central story with different rosters of allied Navis, and can be connected for trading and versus matches.
