This Sega Saturn version of Pandemonium is a platformer that uses 3D graphics on a mostly fixed side-scrolling path, with the camera rotating and swinging around the course as you move. Two playable characters are available: Nikki, who can double jump, and Fargus, who rolls and tumbles, giving slightly different approaches to the same stages. Levels run through fantasy settings full of jumps, moving platforms, enemies and timed hazards, and the shifting viewpoint often reveals sections of the path curving away behind or above you. You gather items as you go and finish each stage by reaching its end point. Play centres on careful timing and platform precision rather than open exploration, with the linear route keeping the focus on the obstacle course ahead.
