Pokemon Stadium 2 is a Nintendo 64 battle game covering the Pokemon of the Game Boy Color generation as well as the earlier ones. Battles are turn-based and shown in 3D with animated moves and commentary, using the same types, stats and four-move structure as the handheld titles. Modes include tournament cups with rental or imported Pokemon and a Gym Leader Castle that runs through the Gym Leaders and Elite Four of Johto and Kanto. With the Transfer Pak, you can connect Game Boy Pokemon cartridges to battle with your own teams, organise storage boxes, and view Pokemon on a television. A set of minigames supports multiplayer play, and there are also tutorial and academy features that explain battle mechanics and strategy.
