Pokemon Stadium is a Nintendo 64 game built around turn-based Pokemon battles rendered in 3D. Rather than an adventure, it presents a series of cups and tournaments in which you assemble a team from rental Pokemon and fight through rosters of computer opponents, plus a Gym Leader Castle mode that pits you against Gym Leaders and the Elite Four. Battles use the same type matchups, stats and four-move sets as the handheld games, with commentary and animated attacks on screen. Using the Transfer Pak accessory with the Nintendo 64 controller, you can plug in Game Boy Pokemon cartridges and battle with your own trained teams, view boxes, and organise Pokemon on a television. There are also minigames for up to four players and a two-player versus mode.
