Racing Gears Advance is an overhead-view racing game for the Game Boy Advance. You steer cars around circuits seen from above, weaving through traffic and taking corners without the third-person camera used by most handheld racers of the era. A career progression lets you earn money from placing well in events and put it toward upgrades and faster vehicles, while pickups scattered on the track add weapons and other offensive and defensive items to use against rivals. Races are short and focused on learning circuit layouts and braking points, with opponents that stay close enough to keep positions changing throughout an event. Control is simple, with acceleration, braking and item use mapped to the handheld's face and shoulder buttons, and support for multiple difficulty settings as you move up through the classes.
