Rayman 3 on Game Boy Advance is a 2D side-scrolling platformer rather than a port of the 3D console game. You control Rayman through themed stages, running and jumping between platforms, throwing his fist at enemies and using his helicopter hair to glide over gaps and long drops. Levels include collectibles and hidden areas that reward searching away from the main route, along with climbing and swinging sections and enemy encounters that need timing to get past safely. The presentation uses colourful sprite artwork and layered backgrounds scaled for the handheld screen. Bosses appear at key points in the progression. If you know the series mainly from the 3D entries, this plays much closer to the original 2D Rayman games.
