Rayman Advance brings the original 2D Rayman to Game Boy Advance. You play as the limbless hero, whose hands and feet float free of his body, running and jumping through hand-drawn stages and throwing his fist as a ranged attack against enemies and switches. Rayman gains abilities over the course of the game, including hanging from flying rings and using his hair as a helicopter to descend slowly. Each level hides caged Electoons to release, often placed in optional side paths that require careful platforming to reach. Worlds cover forests, caverns and music-themed areas, with layered backgrounds and cartoon artwork adapted to the handheld screen. Bosses appear at the end of each world, and the game is known for asking for precise timing throughout.
