A Wii release of the remade version of the original Resident Evil, set in a mansion in the mountains outside Raccoon City. You choose Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, each with different starting equipment, partners and puzzle routes, and explore the estate and its grounds while gathering keys, documents and crests. The game uses fixed camera angles over detailed pre-rendered backgrounds, with limited ammunition, item boxes for storage, and ink ribbons required to save at typewriters. Defeated zombies can return in a more aggressive form unless their bodies are dealt with, and defensive items let you break free from grabs. Enemies include dogs, hunters and larger creatures. This version adds control options suited to the Wii's controllers.
