The Darkside Chronicles is an on-rails light gun shooter for Wii that revisits earlier Resident Evil storylines and frames them as recollections. You aim with the Wii Remote to shoot zombies and other creatures while the camera moves through each stage on a fixed path, reloading, using knife attacks and dodging as enemies close in. Content covers the Raccoon City outbreak and the island facility from Code: Veronica, alongside a newer scenario in which Leon S. Kennedy and Jack Krauser travel to South America. Two players can shoot cooperatively, each covering part of the screen. The presentation uses a handheld, shaky camera style, and weapons and upgrades are purchased between stages with points earned for accuracy and efficiency. Hidden files and items are scattered through levels for repeat runs.
