Revenge of the Ninja is a Sega CD interactive movie built from hand-drawn animation, adapted from a Japanese arcade laserdisc game. Rather than controlling a character directly, you watch animated scenes and respond to on-screen prompts, pressing a direction or button at the right moment so the ninja hero dodges traps, blocks attacks and cuts down enemies. Correct inputs continue the sequence; mistakes trigger a death animation and cost you a life. The story follows the ninja through castles, forests and mountain paths as he pursues his enemies, with each stage playing out as a continuous animated chase punctuated by reaction tests. Play is short but demanding, since progress depends on memorising the timing and direction of each cue through repeated attempts.
