Rise of the Robots is a one-on-one fighting game set in a world of machines. You control a humanoid cyborg and work through a series of robot opponents, each with a distinct body shape and fighting style, in single combat under a round timer. The fighters and backgrounds use pre-rendered computer-generated art, giving the characters a shiny metallic look rather than traditional hand-drawn sprites. Play follows fighting-game conventions: you move, block, jump and combine directions with buttons to perform kicks, punches and special attacks, whittling down an opponent's health bar to win the round. The soundtrack is heavy and industrial to match the setting. Matches can also be played against another person on a shared screen.
