Robotech: The Macross Saga adapts the first Robotech television series into a side-scrolling shooter for Game Boy Advance. You pilot a Veritech fighter that transforms between three modes: a fast jet form suited to open aerial combat, an intermediate Guardian mode, and a walking Battloid form that fights on the ground and handles close targets. Switching modes at the right moment is central to play, since each configuration changes your speed, weapons and how you deal with different enemy formations. Levels follow the conflict between the human forces and the Zentraedi, with waves of enemy mecha, capital ships and boss encounters.
