SimCity for the Super Nintendo is a city-building simulation in which you act as mayor of a city you design from empty land. You zone areas for residential, commercial and industrial use, lay roads, rail and power lines, and place services such as police and fire stations, then set tax rates and budgets while your population reacts. Growth depends on balancing demand, pollution, traffic and crime, and citizens will leave if the city becomes unlivable. Disasters including fires, floods, earthquakes and monster attacks can strike and force you to rebuild. Alongside free-form city construction, the game includes scenarios that hand you an existing city facing a specific crisis to resolve within a time limit. An advisor character offers guidance, and reaching population milestones unlocks new buildings and rewards.
