Speedy Gonzales: Los Gatos Bandidos is a side-scrolling platformer for the Super Nintendo starring the Looney Tunes mouse. Cats have taken Speedy's mouse friends captive, and you run through themed stages to free them. Speedy moves quickly, and the level design plays to that, with long dashes, slopes and jumps that reward keeping momentum. Cheese and other pickups are scattered through the stages, and enemies are dispatched or avoided as you make your way to the end of each area. Trapped mice are hidden through the levels for you to rescue. The presentation uses bright cartoon sprites and animation in keeping with the source shorts. A colourful platformer aimed at players who enjoy speed-focused movement and licensed Warner Bros. characters on the SNES.
